Every anxious-parent
question, answered
We know you have questions at 10 PM. We wrote this section specifically for that moment.
4:1 Counselor Ratio
Every cabin of 8 has 2 trained counselors. Not volunteers β trained staff.
Nurse On-Site 24/7
Licensed RN on campus every hour of every session, with a fully stocked health center.
Allergy-Aware Kitchen
Dedicated prep zones for common allergens. Every meal flagged in our system.
Weekly Photo Updates
Parent portal updated every Sunday with candid photos. No news is good news β but we send news.
ACA Accredited
American Camp Association accreditation means we meet 300+ health, safety, and program standards.
Homesick Protocol
We don't dismiss it. We walk through it together β and 97% of campers are glad they stayed.
The questions you were afraid to ask π
Our counselors are trained in homesick support β not to dismiss it, but to walk through it. We use a "72-hour rule": most homesickness peaks and resolves within the first three days. We'll contact you if we're genuinely concerned. We ask parents not to promise early pickup, which tends to extend homesickness rather than ease it.
Cabins have a maximum of 8 campers per 2 counselors (4:1 ratio). Activity specialists run groups of no more than 10. Our waterfront follows ACA standards: 1 lifeguard per 10 swimmers, plus a dedicated water safety director on duty at all times.
Our kitchen accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and most other dietary needs. Severe allergies are flagged in our system and communicated to all staff. We've served campers with celiac disease, tree nut allergies, and multiple dietary needs β it's normal for us, not an exception.
We're a phone-free camp β research shows kids adjust faster and enjoy camp more without devices. You can send letters and care packages anytime. We post weekly photo updates to our parent portal. For emergencies, our office line is staffed 24/7.
About 40% of our first-year campers have never slept away from home. We offer a one-night "Try Camp" orientation in May for nervous families. Our counselors are specifically trained to help new campers build confidence β that's actually one of the things we're best at.
From the parents
who were nervous too
Real families. Real summers. No stock photos of children jumping.
"Our daughter sobbed at drop-off in year one. Now she starts packing in April. Camp didn't just give her friends β it gave her a version of herself she didn't know existed."

"We were the anxious parents. We emailed the director twice before drop-off. The Sunday photo updates were genuinely the best part of our week. Our son came home knowing how to start a fire."

"I called it a gift for my grandson's birthday. He called it the best summer of his life. At 9. I think that's all I needed to hear."

"I spent two weeks comparing session dates with my work travel. Worth every spreadsheet. The flexible session structure made it actually possible for us."
